2004 Yamaha Raptor 660 for sale in Williamsburg, Virginia

$3,000

The Yamaha Raptor 660R is a sport all terrain vehicle made by Yamaha with a 660cc, single cylinder, five-valve, 4-stroke engine. It is designed to perform well in every riding condition. Yamaha sold the Raptor 660 from model year 2001 through 2005.
Yamaha created a new benchmark for sport ATVs when it introduced the 660R Raptor. It utilized the largest engine to ever be placed in a sport ATV with the first 5-valve cylinder head in ATV history. The outstanding engine along with its YZ-spec, 5-speed manual transmission, state-of-the-art chassis and race-honed suspension helped the Raptor win the title of Sport ATV of the Year.
Engine:
The Raptor was equipped with a four-stroke, 660 CC (cubic centimeter) SOHC (single overhead cam) engine. The use of a four-stoke engine means you do not have to mix oil into the gasoline like with two-stroke engines. In 2001, the 660 CC engine was the largest engine available on a stock four-wheel ATV.
Transmission:
The transmission on the Raptor was a manual shift, five-speed transmission equipped with reverse. The raptor was the first ATV designed for racing to use a five-speed transmission. Previous sport ATVs used four-speed transmissions. The use of a reverse gear to drive the Raptor backward was not new but necessary due to the overall size and weight of the vehicle.
Brakes:
Both front and rear brakes were equipped with hydraulic pistons. This improved braking power and reduced the distance it took the ATV to stop. Given the large engine of the Raptor, the use of hydraulic brakes was an improvement over cable-operated brake calipers.
Wheels and Tires:
The Raptor used a twenty-one inch tall tire in the front and a twenty-inch tire in the rear. The tires were staggered, meaning the rear tires were wider than the front. The front tire was 7 inches wide, while the rear tire was 10 inches wide.
Additional Specifications:
The Yamaha Raptor had a wheelbase of 49 inches, a seat height of almost 40 inches and a dry weight of 398 pounds. This made the Raptor the largest ATV designed for sport racing until the Yamaha Raptor 700R was introduced in 2006.
This amazing machine is a 2004 for $3,000 OBO. This Raptor must be gone this week....Also this 660 Raptor will come with brand new polished front and rear rims with sand paddles. This ATV was my wife's and she really did not ride it. We had two little girls and the ridding went on the back burner for her. She might had put 15 hours on this machine since 2004. This is the cleanest Raptor you will find.. Looks like it did in 2004 when it was in the show room. Its has been garage kept. As you can see in the pic NO RUST on the bike. Let me know if you are interested!
